Sounds Your Ears Should Know About: Buckamore – “Flames”

As exemplified in this promo for his single, “Flames,” Buckamore’s sound is eccentric coming from a rapper out of Houston, but that’s the lovely thing about it. Because while the word “Texas” usually sparks thoughts of triple-six trill in the context of rap music, Buck reaches for something deeper (a respectable risk taken from the independent artist who notes Thom Yorke, Kurt Cobain, and Bob Dylan as influences).

“Flames” sets the stage for his upcoming debut mixtape, Nocturnal, which he says will have two more mixtapes to follow.

No word on the official release date of Nocturnal yet, but for now you can check out the teaser (pulled from V Magazine’s shoot with actress Sasha Grey) for his upcoming video below.
